Structured Design can bring to bear a range of Engineering and Design
capabilities to breathe life to your design concept:
Electronic data distribution:
We give you access to our Design Data Management system to retrieve
controlled project documentation and drawings whenever you need to.
CAD Tools:
- 3D CAD - a bit old-hat now but we have all been using Pro/ENGINEER,
UG and/or CADDS applications since the early '90s when these systems were
$40,000 per license and ran only on UNIX workstations or an 'extreme' PC.
- AS1100 compliant drawings - With the advent of computers many 'Draftsmen'
are now 'CAD Designers' and have forgotten (or never properly learnt) how to produce
quality documentation.

CAE Tools:
- FE Analysis - relatively common these days but this does not mean
that Any Old Joe can properly create, run and interpret the data to provide
meaningful design feedback re structural, thermal or dynamic characteristics.
- CFD Analysis - useful for finding out what what happens inside a micro
turbofan engine at 120,000rpm or the aerodynamic loads on a 550km/hr unmanned aircraft.
GOFMA (Good Old Fashioned Manual Analysis): Regardless of the whizz-bang
technology used in design there must be a starting point based upon experience backed
up with some appropriate initial 'hand' analysis. This can provide a sanity check before
launching into something that may never make the grade.
